First of all I don't think that 2 months is old enough to warrant the description "dead for months". If it'd been 6 months or older I would've understood your reaction.
Secondly, if the topic is relevant still today for people the thread will get reactions and then it will prove that it was a good idea to revive it. If it doesn't it will go away again by itself so no harm done.
Lastly, if he'd repeated these points himself in a new thread, some people would have told him not to double post and use the search function first. So no matter what, someone will complain I guess.
