Unlocked N7 slayer but can't see it anywhere

Unlocked my first N7 character recently, but don't know where it is. Do they just show up on the character selection screen?

Yes. The Slayer is a Vanguard, and you may need to scroll to locate him. Use the arrow button on the right side of the screen after selecting Vanguard.
