I do think that, regardless some thickness which seemed to shield the brains of a couple of unfortunate developers, they didn't anticipate the sheer volume of feedback, bugs and things that seemd not tested. Overall, it must be dawning right now, the weight of the responsibility of this undertaking and they have 2 options: grow up and start working decently, really compromised, focus on quality, honing long-term healthy relationship with their customers.
Or ignore common sense, go for pockets, imeediate cash grab, microtransations, fail and have one of the greatest sci-fi franchises die in their watch. I really wouldn't like that sort of background, specially tied to my professional career.
