Where Is The M-92 Mantis Sniper Rifle?

IIRC, the M-97 Viper is considered an upgrade of the M-92 Mantis. Yeah, it does less damage per shot, but it's semi-auto versus single shot.
Also, as a nitpick, the Mantis, Viper, etc., were never in ME1.
Fair enough it wasn't called the mantis but since there were only 2 types of looking weapon. One typed looked like the mantis
I think they were both technically in 1 (the skins). they just named them in 2.
Even then, no, they weren't. The closest direct analogue in ME1 is the Rosenkov Volkov line. In ME2/3, the Viper is pretty much a renamed Volkov, and fits because they share the same manufacturer.
Huh, you are right about the mantis, it has really been awhile since I played that. The other sniper looks similar, but more square, probably just a prototype design. 🤔
