By re opening the vault I mean that you could just access it and go back and solve those puzzles. I enjoy them a lot but locking them behind the doors for good doesn't add any gameplay value or what do you think? It wouldn't hurt anyone if the doors would open after the main questline and would only open more areas to explore. The thing that SAM wants you to find could range anywhere from a small chest that has worthless trash to a datacore which is vital to a quest so SAM's quote is basically pointless for the gamer. The game basically forces you to use other sources such as YouTube to complete a basic quest which in my opinion is unreasonable.

Two types of puzzles in the vaults. The "behind the forcefield" remtech, which only drops during the purification field, so that's a one-off puzzle. The other kind which is typically platform jumping and/or activating consoles in a specific order to open a door, bridge or whatever.
The second kind I suppose could be made accessible after the fact.

Had a bunch of playthroughs, missed it in my first 2 and couldnt complete this mission, did some research and finally managed to get all 9 data cores, mission complete and I dont remember getting even a thank you from peebee neither did it add anything to the storyline think all I got was a "quest complete"... Its another difficult to complete quest without significant reward.
As for the vault door access, it's in my opinion a poor game design, I mean if Ryder can access the meridien and make it connect to planets, can access remnant ships and make them do things for him, he cant reopen a vault door? Maybe a better option to allow it and player will need to re-do the whole purification field run again if they wish to re-enter the vault and SAM can give a notification to ryder, warning him, if he's sure he wish to re-enter the vault as he will need to reset and re-do the purification process before he leaves?

It's not really that hard. I think there are actually 10 or 11 cores (because I've never had to kill Peebee's ex ever) and I've gotten the mission complete every time except my first playthrough.

PeeBee's loyalty mission, was it about a remnant data core? Does it count as part of the 9? Thought it was some other device...
