Why not decrease hp instead of increasing for difficulty?

Been wondering about this a lot to make strategy matter a lot more, if you only had 5 hp you would die from a single hit but I am of course not suggesting that. However a decrease in HP to dangerous limits would be different than what most games do, bullet sponges can be annoying.

Hm? What are you suggesting then?

  • They're suggesting a squishier Ryder, easily accomplished by turning passive skills off in "insane".

But it'd only turn the game into a bigger "dodger" than it currently is so I can't say I like the idea.

Enemies could have powers unlocked as difficulty goes up, not meddling much with their HP. Unique powers, of course. And better AI HOHOHOHOHOHO.

I have played the game on Insanity from the first minute and i think its hard enough if you not invest in armor like the Hyperguardian. Maybe its just me being bad but i died a lot more until i developed the Hyperguardian set or i just got used to the game, cant tell. Now i cannot remember when i died last time which may take some away of the enjoyment factor but you can always go less tanky or consider the fact that how many bullets it takes to take down an Ancient Eiroch, an exalted krogan (cant remember the name) it can be a fair way to even out the odds a bit to be a bullet sponge.
