Won't recognize Microphone

The game refuses to recognize my headset when it comes to multiplayer voice chat.

The game audio comes through fine, but no voice comes through, and no voice goes out.

Also, the options where you pick sound devices for voice audio/chat are blank. Nothing there at all, can't click on them or scroll through to another choice.

Its a basic logitech USB headset.

The microphone itself works (was using it in Teamspeak, and tested the mic in other programs).

The microphone previously worked in the game on this PC, but I ran into some issues, and the easiest fix was to simply doing an OS refresh/factory restore, so I had to reinstall ME3. After that was done it would no longer pick up the headset.

I tried mucking about in the configuration.exe, and deleting the config files found under the my documents folder, but still nothing.

Also of note, its a laptop, and the built in microphone is disabled via device manager, if that could possibly be causing some sort of issue.

Edit: I tested it with a friend who coudl talk to me through TS, it is apparently a visual bug only. Hard to tell when no pug ever speaks while playing multiplayer.

The edit button can be find here:

It seams that ME3 doesn't recognizes your headset, did you tried to reinstall the Headset?

how exactly would you reinstall it?

The only installing that was done was when I plugged it in for the first time, windows automatically did whatever it does, and it works. I only ever plug it in when I play ME3 and use TS, and I plug it in before running the programs. Windows just readily recognizes it when I plug it in since.

(I did try running ME3 first, and then plug it in after to see if it would work, it didn't make any difference.)

First, try to repair the game. (in Origin > Game Library > right click ME3 > Repair) > test

If that don't works, unplug the headset.

Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.

Copy and past or type "hdwwiz.cpl" (Without the quotes) into the opening windows > ENTER

right click the headset > deinstall > reboot.

After reboot plug in the headset. > install the driver.

I edited the first post, and I'll post here to make this more visible:

This was apparently a visual only glitch. I got a friend of mine into game and we tested it out and while it does not display an output or input device, I am able to transmit and hear the in game voice chat.
