299 max car level is ridiculous

There needs to be at least a message to the user when are at a car's max level, be it 299 or 399 or whatever, stating that the car is at MAX LEVEL so you don't grind out a dozen more races or wheel spins hoping to get an upgrade. Also it should be more obvious before you even purchase a vehicle that its maximum level is listed in bold. From a gameplay design perspective, it's ridiculous that some cars will never ever be competitive when you have fully open racing lobbies where you basically have to be 390+ to win, yet so many cars can't even hit 300. I've been playing EA games since the 80s, I'm an EA Access member, and this is the first horrible gameplay design I've felt the need for shtting on the forums to get my point across. This is bad design.

Yeah thats true and im not judging others for enjoying that part. I am trying to say that there are those few who make it bad for the others who like being competitive but are not going to have a flip out if they lose. Good sportsmanship does exist out there its just stained by those who i mention in my other post. I just like having fun and enjoy the "fun" crowd more.. Used to be competitive but just kind of lost the drive after awhile. Having to classes is good i think IMO as like you say it breaks up the cars more. There are different levels of classes in real life races for reasons right. I dont think NFS Payback will please every one equally so I think its tough to really make it so. We all have to meet in the middle some where.  🙂

  • The 299 max makes no sense when you have cars like derelicts that start out at 100 and can go to 399 and others that start out at 199 and only go to 299. there is no logical reason for limiting some cars. IRL you can tune any car as fast as you want (provided you know how and have the appropriate parts) even if that means you have to do an engine swap.

and money , lots of money. When i had my last turbo FWD car the damn turbo alone was 1000 Canadian . Thats  big money every time it chewed out a inducer bearing.

I put a lot of money out when i had my cars. Wish i could have some of it back lol.

Like i say its hard to say what their idea was behind making the 2 classes. Its still comes down to the fact that with all cars at 399 it still wont make a huge difference because most online players will be using the fastest car in game. Already on line it is always regaras and VW bugs every were. I went out in my G wagon and i was the only different guy there. Plus id bet that if all cars were made 399 then the next issue would be some saying it has to be broken up so that they can use something different then the " fastest car in game". Its feels like a no win sometimes

  • yes, lots of money.

anyway the car level isn't exactly fair as you can have cars with same number but have different top speeds and/or acceleration. I don't play multiplayer but it sounds like they should put tiers in there (it would give you a reason to have a lower tier car).

the problem with the regera is that no other car in the game comes close. IMO they should have a tier 4 for the hyper cars
