Pretty obvious, but it sounds to me like this game didn't sell very well, hence some micro-transaction options.
Is it P2W? Not quite, since it's all available. Pay to get the shinnies faster? Sure it is, but it's not like it takes forever to get anything anyways; just a few days / weeks.
I don't have a problem with it myself, but $4.99 is too much; now $2.99, sure.

I like the car but think that it is over priced. Should be a mutli car pack for that amount of change.imo

The fact that they said there will be no microtransactions, and now look where we are now. I do hope this game will not end up like Payback, but what am i saying this is EA we are talking about.
- 6 years ago@selticus1978 I said before game release EA is playing words with the we dont have microtransaction AT THE LAUNCH of the game.It certainly means they can add cash-grab back after some time.So not surprised by a pointless cash-grab DLC

Alright, the game is still downloading, but I've seen the update notes:
- McLaren F1 1993, buy only option $4.99.
- DB11 2018, in-game cash option.
While it is a pay to win car, as long as they don't restrict the cars that are currently available, then fine. Like I said, this game didn't sell very well and the developers have moved to adding some now buy-only cars to recoup some of the game's loses. As long as they don't bombard the game with micro-transactions, or lock content already in the game behind a paywall, then fine.
For me, I was already satisfied with the Skyline R32, 180SX, BRZ, S2000, Lotus Exige, BMW M3 and M3 GTR (finally), and my favorites, the Aston Martin Vulcan and Dodge Viper (with the correct engine sound).
Edit:
Besides, this will be the last NFS game that I will probably ever play. The game is not in a great state, but I do hope that it will improve over time, and it will take money for that to happen.
- 6 years ago@ZeroMcDol EA is already bilions worth... so they have more than enough to create good games from the start.
Paying money for an unfinished product of any kind is stupid and paying even more money for polish is... ultimate retardation.- 6 years ago
I've finally checked out the update in-game. Here's the info on the McLaren:
- Has customization options, no need to do the optional quests unless you want to.
- Has optional quests for one extra customization piece.
- Ride height, camber, and engine sound are all customize-able, like any other car.
- Slightly faster than or equal to the RSR (RSR corners faster).
It's true, this game and any other games that EA makes should be better strait out of the gate. However, no developer will continue to work on a failed project at a financial loss, even if they're worth billions, in EA's case (and you Know how quick EA is to pull a plug on a failed project.). I'm not saying that adding in a cash-only car is right or wrong tho, I'm just saying that I understand financially. Also, the updates, bug fixes, and tweaks are free dude. We also have plenty of cars, including the RSR for free, so I'm not worried about some eventual optional cash-only cars.
Now if I start seeing paid loot-boxes, and other things that I already mentioned, then I'll have a problem with that, but that's me.
