I did contact help.ea.com, and the answer was to start a new case and choose live support.
But live support is not an option when i fill in the form, only email is available.
They also wrote that child accounts does not have online privileges, and that is probably the reason that the game will not start.
So basically i feel like i just wasted my money and a lot of time, for a game that will probably never get to work for my son.
It would have been nice with a warning, when the code was being redeemed and before installation!
What is next step?

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having same issue. I tried contacting customer support but they were beyond useless.
