Adding EA friends cross play

So I’ve been trying to add my friend who plays on an Xbox s series whilst I play on a switch. When I type the ea Id in after HP- it won’t type any letters in lower case, so I can’t find my friend. When they try to add me their game says the request is sent successfully but I never receive an invite to accept. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    I have also ran into this issue. have you found a fix at all? I'm trying to add my friend who is on Xbox while I'm on PS4 and it just says that I can't add him

    I have an Xbox series s and a switch and purchased the game on both platforms and cannot get cross play to work at all the switch can send the friend request while the Xbox cannot send or receive them wtf it's the only reason I purchased the game twice
