All music is constantly muffled.

Product: Need for Speed Heat
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Summarize your bug In the open world, in both night and day, the game never removes the low pass filter from when you first exit your garage, and all music stays muffled. All other instances like races, loading screens, and menus will have normal soundtrack audio. Finishing a race, switching time of day, and transitioning from loading screens have no effect, nor does restarting the game or the console.
What car were you using? Any car. Glitch was first noticed driving my RX8
Was the car your own build or downloaded from the in-game community? Personal Build
What was the last event you played? I've played several since discovering it, but my last event was the Stardust Circuit Race
Was it a day or a night event? Day Event
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know of any means to reproduce the bug. I transitioned from a demo copy of the game through EA access to a purchased copy as it was downloading on my console through my ready to install games. (I purchased the game as it was installing, I had already made progress with the demo on a different Xbox console)
What happens when the bug occurs? The low pass filter applied to the soundtrack while the car is idled in front of the garage is never removed when the car is driven away.
What do you expect to see? I expect to hear the soundtrack unfiltered as I begin to drive the car.

  • Hey guys, so I think I finally "fixed" the issue.. there's an option called "Car Stereo" which if you set to "never" at least for me, fixed the muffled music on freeroam... I actually think we are not in front a bug here as much as a poorly explained audio option.. so when they say " Car stereo = Never" turns out it means "the music doesn't sound like is coming from inside your car" instead of "music from the car (which I think is obvious to assume that's where its coming from) is now never on" ....

    well... I hope this help

  • How do you find this magical car stereo option you claim exists? I’m personally on Xbox and cannot find the option you claim is there

  • Hey fella,

I struggled with this for the longest time but alas this gentlemen at the top of the thread solved the mystery! The process is as follows:

    pause>settings>audio>Car stereo>then just toggle that to never and boom! 👊 🎤 ⬇️
