Can't accelerate in Need for Speed The Run
AMD Phenom 9500+ Quad Processor
6 gigs or DDR2 Ram
GeForce 250 Video Card
Windows 7 Ultimate 64x
This is the PC version of Need for Speed The Run by the way...
Now, this isn't a performance issue as the game has no issues there for me. The issue I have is once i'm out of the crusher, my car brakes is permanently locked and I cannot accelerate past 3-5mph. Every other key works - Camera, Handbrakes, Steering left and right, Gear up / down, Backwards view, Reset position, etc. The only keys that doesn't work is the Acceleration and Brakes.
Things i've tried/done:
I have updated all drivers for my motherboard/videocard.
I have updated Java, Flash, Directx.
I have unplugged EVERYTHING usb from my PC. My external Harddrive, my game controller(s), my nostromo n52te gamepad and even left one controller plugged in while unpllugging my mouse/keyboard.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3x.
I have no programs running in the background besides what it takes to reboot windows 7.
I have spoke with a live EA representative (HA!) and their suggestion was to update Java and reinstall the game (neither worked).
I changed the key settings to other keys to make sure it wasn't default.
I left everything default after reinstalling to make sure it wasn't a in-game setting.
I checked my mouse, keyboard and game controllers to make sure they worked properly with several other games and checked the drivers to make sure they were updated for all of them.
I have searched the internet for two days straight and no luck. I have seen several post / youtube video's where other players have posted the same issue but no solution ☹️
After all of this I am ready to give up, I have no idea what to do now... I also can play any other Need for Speed game with the same controller / setup with no issues what so ever, even Burnout paradice.
If anyone had this issue and know how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate the solution as I would love to play this game. Thank you all for replying and help.

So I had the same problem today after buying the game. After unplugging my second controller it worked perfectly. I understand you have already tried this, but if anyone else has the same problem then I recommend trying this first.
