Guys I agree that this is definitely a game-related problem, however make sure you are performing CLEAN driver installations. I risked updating to the latest Nvidia drivers, and so far I've had no problems with the error coming back. Don't just do an express installation though... select "clean install" and have the driver package install everything fresh without preserving any settings. That's the only way you can eliminate the possibility of your driver package causing an issue.
Secondly, I still see some confusion about what I previously stated, or at least it seems there is some confusion. I am running Windows 10 64bit, but I do NOT have the creator's update. I am on build 1604. It seems the creator's update is causing several game related issues (other games besides Payback) so the newest Windows build may partially be to blame.
to jabberwocky.. i done a clean install with 3 different versions of drivers even completely removed all vga drivers through safe mode and installed them completely new. no effect.
and its strange that this direct x error was on dragon age origins, battlefield 1, nfs rivals and nfs payback, these are at least the ones i know of, i have played 3 of the them all without an error only the nfs payback brings me the error. and just a small hint... all these games are from EA/Origin so i think its in the base coding of the games
Same problem here. I also bought the NFS before Payback and that game gives me no error whatsoever. It's just Payback that does not work.
