  • Hello @089099103,

    1. Check for Game Files Integrity

    • If you bought the game through Steam or EA App, you can verify the integrity of the game files. This will ensure there aren't any missing or corrupted files that could be causing the error.

    Steam:

    1. Open Steam.
    2. Go to your Library.
    3. Right-click on Need for Speed and select Properties.
    4. Under the Local Files tab, click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.

    EA App (Origin):

    1. Open the EA App.
    2. Go to My Collection.
    3. Right-click the game and select Repair.

    2. Run as Administrator

Sometimes, games need elevated permissions to run correctly. Try running Need for Speed as an administrator:

    1. Right-click the game shortcut or .exe file.
    2. Select Run as administrator.

You can also set it to always run as an administrator:

    1. Right-click the game shortcut.
    2. Go to PropertiesCompatibility tab.
    3. Check Run this program as an administrator.

    3. Disable Full-Screen Optimizations

Some games experience issues when Windows Full-Screen Optimizations are enabled. You can disable this for the game:

    1. Right-click the game shortcut.
    2. Click PropertiesCompatibility.
    3. Check Disable Full-Screen Optimizations.

    4. Update/Install DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables

Sometimes, games require specific versions of DirectX or Visual C++ Redistributables. You can download and install the latest versions of these from the official Microsoft website:

    5. NVIDIA Control Panel Settings

Since you're using an RTX 4050, make sure the game is utilizing the dedicated GPU rather than the integrated one. Here's how you can check:

    1. Right-click on your desktop and open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
    2. Under Manage 3D Settings, go to the Program Settings tab.
    3. Select Need for Speed 2015 (if it’s not listed, click Add and find the .exe file).
    4. Set Preferred graphics processor to High-performance NVIDIA processor.

    6. Check Power Settings

Since you're playing on a laptop, make sure your power settings are set to High Performance to avoid throttling.

    1. Go to Control PanelPower Options.
    2. Select High Performance.

Additionally, make sure that your laptop is plugged into power when playing. Playing on battery can result in reduced performance.

    7. Disable Overclocking (If Applicable)

If you've overclocked your GPU using tools like MSI Afterburner, try disabling the overclocking temporarily. Sometimes, overclocking can lead to instability, especially in certain games.

    8. Check for Windows Updates and Driver Updates

Even if you updated your GPU drivers, make sure your Windows is fully up to date. Also, you can try reinstalling the NVIDIA drivers using the NVIDIA DDU tool (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely clean and reinstall the drivers.

    1. Download and run DDU (from Safe Mode for best results).
    2. Uninstall all NVIDIA drivers.
    3. Reboot and install the latest drivers from the NVIDIA website.

    9. Check for Conflicting Software

Some background applications can interfere with games. Disable or uninstall any software that might be conflicting with the game, such as:

    • Antivirus programs (try temporarily disabling it to see if it’s causing the issue).
    • Overclocking software (MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner, etc.).
    • Game optimization software (e.g., NVIDIA GeForce Experience or MSI Dragon Center).

    10. Check for Error Messages

If there's an error message or code, make sure to search for it online. Many common errors have specific solutions available.

If none of these solutions help, you might want to reach out to the EA support team for further assistance, as they might be able to diagnose the issue with more specific details about the game.

    Best regards,
