Disappointing Engine Swaps
Engine swaps are cool and all, it really is wicked to make a car sound different than what it used to. But browsing the options, so.e of them have me scratching my head. The 67 Camaro apparently call...
actually saved engine swaps for last firstly there way to expensive and like you said the swaps arent remotely realistic for the 67 camaro the max is a forged FORD 289 4.7 liter? why isnt it the 7 liter from the z06 thats in the game or any other ls engine or a big block chevy
after i did spend over 600k for the swap on the 67 camaro and upgrade to all ultimate plus the 0-60 was the same as the stock engine with ultimate plus parts it did gain half a sec in the quarter an a few mph top speed not worth it imo b/c the car still doesnt handle to keep up with the other cars around turns
i also noticed on alot of the cars i have the max engine swap is only a few HP more than the stock engine for example the c6 z06 corvette is 5-10 more so not worth it for cars that are capable of 1300hp with stock engine
this is what happens when you have a European game dev trying to make a racing game that has American cars and American culture for the engine and even body customization are out of wack i wonder which region has the most sales for the NFS games NA or europe? my guess is since black box step out north American sales have declined below europe
Yeah none of the swaps make sense! I'm just gonna try to muscle my way with what I got when Speedlists come in. I really hope EA looks into the engine swaps, it's really saddening to see a V6 as the be-all-end-all for a 77 Firebird. As it stands, engine swaps are a waste of money and effort. If it cost that much but was a genuine Chevy engine, screw it. I'll go ahead and grind for it. But without it being a Chevy engine, it just takes away all the fun. And I'm sure that Honda guys feel this way too! Love them or hate them, Honda makes engines that can handle power. A swap for a Honda is usually a K20, not a Lambo V10. It doesnt sound right. It's cool to be able to do that, but to be forced into having those sounds for sake of performance is kind of a game killer.
Sorry if this necroing, but I just figured why dont they add a stock version of the engine in as an ultimate part? All of us would be able to use our favorite cars and it would allow other cars to reach 399 and above without having to swap to a different manufacturer engine
