@mrtun3r
Yeah but we don't do that. You know why? Because it's dumb. It's a gimmick.
So, because it is not done in Europe its automatically a gimmick? Are you being for real or are you ignorant?
Which means nothing outside the USA, to the rest of the world it's just a pile of scrap metal with an overpowered engine that can run 400 meters really fast. But I was willing to go with "to each his own" until you made it personal and started shoving your star spangled banner in my face .
So, because again, because Europe only wants to make cars that go around in a race track, the Demon is just a pile scrap? I did not know you were the spokesperson for all of Europe here. First, no one shoved a star spangled banner in your face. I'm sorry the US offends you. Secondly, no one got offended but you here. Also, did you know Chevy makes whats called a COPO Camaro? Its a $100,000 car that comes with no engine. The engine is extra. its also drag use only.
Actually it's Europe and Asia. Great minds think alike.
Anyway our "obsession" with the Nurburgring leads to innovations outside the race track. What is running a quarter mile fast supposed to achieve?
Oh, my fault, I didn't know we were discussing Asia here.
You must have forgotten that US cars have ran on the Nurburgring too. You know, Vipers (made by the same brand you apparently hate), Chevy and Ford (all took the government bailout but, I guess you did'nt know that).
The only reason that's even a thing is because it's a type of racing that's easy to get into and doesn't require much investment.
Actually you are 100% wrong about drag racing. Anyone can make it a hobby, sure. What your being ignorant on is the fact that it takes little investment. A top fuel engine costs $15,000 each run. Not to mention each engine costs six figures to build. Also, its easy to spend six figures building a drag car at home. This right here, shows you have no clue what you are even talking about.
"It's not safety, it's safety and emissions".
That's basically what you just said in a nutshell. Jesus Christ...
Uh, yeah, that is what I said. Again, we have safety and emissions standards here, which you should know about in Europe considering Volkswagen and all. After 10 years, cars are DOT exempts and after 15 they are EPA exempt hints the 25 year rule.
They're also the reason you have automobiles to begin with, not to mention countless innovations for them throughout the years. What contribution did Chrysler ever make to the car industry as a whole, aside from making poor business decisions, lowering the standards for everybody and getting bailed out by the government?
So what? What does Mercedes building the first car have to do with anything? They caused the 25 year rule which is what we are talking about. Right because the SRT brand, which put high perforamce cars back on the map, is not one accomplishment right? The Viper isn't one either? The Demon being the first production car to go 9 seconds in a 1/4 mile?
So California isn't part of the US now? Well, that sounds like a well oiled machine.
Where did I say that? I said they started the emissions standards we have now. Again, you live in Europe, you should know what smog is considering Volkswagen and all.
That you suffer of blind patriotism and you're in denial. You just did it again.
You, yet again, proved nothing. You claim I suffer from "blind patriotism" yet have not shown me how I have, you just say I do. I'm also sorry my patriotism offends you. Do you need a safe space?
Exactly, which is why the Challenger Demon would lose horribly.
You yet again showed your ignorance. Do you not know how fast a 9 second car is? You will be spending more in upgrading the RB26DETT compared to what the Demon costs. A 9 second car is not cheap to build.
How about the fact that first gen Diablo's used regular car batteries and didn't have anything in place to ensure that they didn't die after a few weeks? How about the fact that the hydraulics on the doors weren't weather-proof at all and gave out in a matter of months? Or the fact that they did not feature any kind of adjustable seats and you had to drive with your right hand on the shifter or else you risked hitting it with your elbow? You want more?
So you call out the first gens that had design flaws yet, you dont praise the second gens? You realize that 1st generation cars are usually filled with design flaws that are usually fixed in the next generation right?
I must point something in your response to @HazzardOutlaw
"It also depends on if the driver has a clue on how to race his car or not. So it's not only the car you have to beat but the driver also."
Yet, Europe isnt offering stick shift models on most of their cars. Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari, etc all offer dual clutch transmissions, no manual gearbox. Look at all of Europe before judging the US on stick shifts.
Except Mexicans aren't a problem for us, Syrian refugees are. And it's about to get worse courtesy of the insecure control freak you handed the nuke button to.
Thanks for that, by the way.
Right, because hes done so much harm to poor old you guys over there right? Syrian refugees are your problem because your leaders let them in, not us. Not our fault most of EU has open borders. At least our country is doing something about illegal immigration and trying to keep it in check
Now, i will point out somethings you said to @BLVD69
No he didn't. He's just doing the same thing he's been doing ever since he got triggered by my comment on the Challenger Demon, pounding his chest and yelling "We are the best at everything!" and "You hate America!" as Americans always like to do.
I didnt get triggered to your comment regarding the Dodge Demon comment. You are sit there totally dogging on the fact that Chrysler built a 9 second production car, saying its not an accomplishment yet you want to sit there and say build a car to go fast around a road track is. That is you being biased. There are two different car cultures here. We like seeing cars go fast in a straight line (its more exciting) and we also have NASCAR (Which I am not a huge fan of). Also, not all Americans do what you jsut said we did. We are just doing it towards you.
Probably because you always blow your top and take it personally whenever someone criticizes anything from America.
Not true. You are just being ignorant and its annoying us.
I'm already familiar with your import laws.
Obviously not because you would have known the reasons behind why we do what we do. What you can not seem to wrap around your head is the fact that we have specific rules that are signed in, are they a little ridiculous? Yeah, maybe but those are our rules. There is also a rule that exempts the law written and that is the 25 year rule. Just because you guys do not car who drives what in EU does not mean we should not.
