I know you consider it a problem, but I'm a fairly good drifter. Here are some tips if you see fit to try them!

    1. (&2) On maps with a lot of AI, stay at the rear of the pack, pace them and follow them into the drift. That way you get the maximum multiplier and can safely drift without to many encounters.

-In the converse on Touge maps, just try and race ahead of the pack into a safe distance before you start accruing your drift points!

    3. The best thing to do on drift train courses is to let the AI take the lead. Follow them as close as possible. The AI is trained to follow each other. If for some reason the pack gets seperated; stay with the larger pack for a better multiplier. Even a split pack will net you points if you stay close to one car that is part of the course.

-In Gymkhana courses, just go fast and drift big, the AI shouldn't be a problem here!

-Touge course, like #1, just race ahead as far as you think you need a buffer. But as you get to be a better drifter even a 1.2x multiplier can net you hug points!

    4. Although I can't really account for this, but it sounds like you are accidentally using a drift technique you aren't familiar with. I don't know the name but it occurs when you try to chain a new drift off your old drift:

You come around the corner into a drift and if you hit your emergency brake while turning the opposite direction it will throw your car into the opposite direction!

Go into a wide open space (Docks) and check it out. Just drift into about 75 degree then hit your E brake, it will throw you into a opposite drift if you turn far enough!
