Duplicate email

My son has a teen ea account linked to his email address.  He wants to play NHL 24 , but the game says congratulations you can now upgrade to a teen account.  But, as stated above, he already has a teen account, so when I put in his email address it says it's a duplicate and we can't proceed.  I don't understand why this has to be so difficult.  He should just be able to log in with his ea account and play.  There are no humans to contact at ea and the chat assistant is useless.  The forums talk about removing his email address and putting in another email address, but my son doesn't have another email address and we shouldn't have to create another email address for him.  This is quite frustrating.

  • Hey @umuckurlife

It sounds as if the EA account linked to the platform he plays NHL on might be a child account, or he has a secondary EA account.

For assistance with looking at his EA account and ensuring everything is updated correctly, you will need to contact our support.

Try using the following steps to create a ticket:

    How to use EA Help

    1. Go to the EA Help homepage.
    2. Select NHL 24 (or any game you're trying to play)
    3. Select the See all help topics
    4. Select the option I want to update my EA Account information (or select what best matches your case)
    5. You should be able to choose from Chat or Email (options can vary

    Cheers!

  • having the exact same issue and appears that there are multiple user requests relating to same problem going back for many years and still no reasonable solution for this. The chat and help options you suggested do not work and there is no one available to resolve the problem which is clearly a coding issue on EA Sports side. It is not reasonable at all for someone to have to create another email to resolve the duplicate email problem when upgrading to teen account when they already have one master email for all their account and security info.
