e0001 error dissapeared, but autolog as unresponsive as ever

I bought NFS:MW 3 days ago and almost every time I opened the game the e0001 error would apear at the beginning of the game saying "you must connect to the EA servers to use the online component of this game" However, the game would still let me connect in the game to the servers, although this connection would only work one out of say five times. Then when about 95% of the time when I would say "enter public game" the game would say "autolog has disconnected" or "there was an error connecting to autolog" and I would repeat this reconnecting and re-joining process until finally it would put me in a game with no lag working perfectly for about 5-15 minutes until I would get kicked from autolog again.

Apparently there was a new patch that just fixed the e0001 error and it I am no longer getting the e0001 error screen. However all of the other problems persist and it seems just as hard as ever to get online. I am wondering if EA is aware of this problem, if others are experiencing the same problem, and if everybody who is experiencing it has a digital copy because otherwise I might try to get a refund and buy a physical copy of the game so I can play it online.

  • Well I figured out what may have been the problem all along, something simple troubleshooting should have shown me. The problem laid within my router. I run an early 2011 macbook pro with Windows using bootcamp, and apparently for some reason NFS: MW didn't like my router, the airport. When I connected the modem directly into my computer via ethernet the online worked without a hitch and I had some really fun hours of gameplay.

  • and for the record, even though I should have figured out the solution myself I had an extremely pleasent and helpful EA operative on the phone for a good hour going through the line of troubleshooting. I actually felt bad that I spent so much of his time but he was really nice. The only reason I didn't try this step on my own is because it was my parent's modem and I had trouble getting it to connect to my computer before so in esscence I was lazy.
