EA Launcher Sluggish

This is not just for NFS heat I'm talking about the launcher in general. every time I open it makes my windows sluggish by moving the window around it looks and feels disgustingly slow it's like I've gone from 144hz to 30hz. It goes back to normal once I close the EA launcher. What could even cause this problem?
