Could you please try switching between your data connection (3G/4G) to WiFi, or visa-versa. Make sure you completely close the game and reload. Afterwards, try performing a complete reboot of the device as a workaround to the issue.
In the meantime, are you connected to Game Center on your iPad?
I have tried everything, from turning my Wifi Connection on/off to rebooting my device... I do hope you guys fix this soon, We're missing tons of events that we can win ☹️
