I would appreciate hearing SOME sort of an informed response on this issue. I dropped $50 or $60 on it and it has been a month. Ultimately, if I can't be assured anyone is actually going to do anything about this, then I'd like to just log into Origin and get my money back. I'd prefer they don't drag this on long enough that we're all on the hook, because it's too late to reasonbly demand a refund.
Also, this is a great example of why PC gaming is always accused of being "dying". As a life-long PC gamer, I have to accept that I'm going to possibly be screwed for weeks or months, these days. As said life-long PC gamer, I tend to feel that if I buy it on a console, I'll either have a good experience (with poorer graphics) or I'll have a bad experience that is fixed shortly thereafter. On the PC, these days, I may have a great experience, a poor experience that is quickly addressed, or a poor experience that is just ignored forever, becuase they already have my money and who cares, because consoels amiright?
But, of course, "bad sales are due to piracy durp durp".
*sigh*

Yeah, I agree with you here. We spent a good deal of money and the worst thing is that there's no word from either EA or Criterion. This is very poor from a consumers point of view, it's like saying "great, we got your money! now, get lost!".
It could be that Criterion can't make any statements, leave a message or likewise because of EA. If not, then i've lost much respect for my beloved guys at Criterion. How hard can it be to make a comment like "Hi guys, we are aware of the issues and currently working hard for a patch to fix these issues. We have no ETA at the moment but will keep you guys posted"?
My guess is that it's EA thats the culprit here though. Wasn't voted worst company of the year without a valid reason.

Hello everyone,
Here is an update from the studio on this situation.
The development team worked on a number of improvements regarding stuttering issues reported in this thread.
The changes should help improve stuttering and limit the effects in the event of FPS variations in most cases for those who are experiencing this situation.
The modifications should be implemented with an upcoming game update. When more information is available we will post a new message here with additional details.
Thank you all for your comments and for having provided DxDiags.

This is NOT resolved with the latest "so called" patch / fix!!!
Because I currently have the same issue with dropping frame rates. According to the website "canyourunit.com" I am somewhere in the middle between "minimal specs" & "recommended specs". And therefore suggested EA / Criterion to just have a "benchmark" provide an optimal graphics setting in the new idea section of this forum:
Since I don't really get the sense of speed in gameplay I got from the former Criterion game, Burnout Paradise.
Additional information, my specs are:
OS: Windows 7 Home Edition 64bits (don't even know if NFS takes advantage of that 64bit OS)
Intel Quad Core CPU Q6700 @ 2.66Ghz , ~2.7Ghz
ATI Radeon HD 4850 Resolution 1920x1080, video memory in DxDiag 2297 MB.
Memory in DxDiag 3072MB RAM
Controller: Logitech Steering Wheel - Driving Force GT (offtopic: also the worst of the worst Frorce Feedback and no options to set it yourself, no feel of understeer / oversteer, can't slide the steering wheel like you would in a normal car, on in Burnout Paradise for that matter 😉 ).
Now it is clear to me why EA didn't realease a PC demo, then nobody would buy this game anymore since they would already experience this. I also bought this one on a sale, now I understand why it was on sale.
I agree with the other posts on this forum, this game totally lacks the immersion factor that other games DO have due to good framerates. Hope EA can still provide the Need for Speed expressed here, because in Most Wanted 2012 there just isn't.
!!! Additional:
Now did a comparison with all the detail at LOWest setting between Burnout Paradise & NFS Most Wanted 2012, these are the results:
Burnout Paradise (with maximum detail) : 40 - 60 FPS
Need for speed Most Wanted 2012: stuck at 20 - 30 FPS
I did check the config file "config.NFS13Save" and it does say: LockTo30=false. Is there any other way to increase the frame rate? Because the frame rate mostly drops to 20 FPS in tunnels and at large bridges / buildings.
I would expect an expensive game like this to perform at a minimum requirements system @ 40-60 FPS. And additional have added visual value on an high-end system.
Next time I just won't buy any EA / Criterion / Origin game untill I see a FREE demo presented to test it first. Feel like a fraggin' BETA tester!!!
