this is odd. I completed it with the fairlady as all the cars you can use. You're going to have to tell us what console you're on.
to answer your question, yes, you get the Regera as a race spec car.

you play on easy difficulty?
I'm not the best driver and had little difficulty doing the three stage race at the end.
