Help: Stuck and can't progress without paying $$$

Sorry for the rant, and I am open to suggestions as this is an ask for help as well as a vent.  Unless I am missing something, I am at a point in this game where it is required to spend IRL money to progress.

I enjoyed playing this game up until now.  I have spent countless hours playing this game and racing the same races HUNDREDS of times to get BPs (I literally have over 200 springs from the Porsche Carrera BP race).  Add on to that watching literally 100's of ads only to progress to the point in the game where YOU MUST spend real money to continue further.  Over my time playing this game it became obvious that it is rigged to be a currency sink but I toughed it out and continued to earn BPs and in game money and gold so I could eventually progress.

I currently have a STAGE 8 Porsche 911 Carrera with all stage 5 parts at 760 PR.  To upgrade the parts I need legendary materials.  I can get legendary materials from Tuner Trials only if I have a viper.  I can ONLY get a viper if I complete Chapter 14.  I can only complete chapter 14 if I have a PR higher than 762.   (you see the circle there and how conveniently it comes out that I lack the required PR?)

So, I must BUY (with real money)  vip points to unlock the ABILITY to SPEND GOLD on legendary parts on the black market so I can progress.

Someone here posted a suggestion to win the BMW M5 From the special event and that would help.  I spent almost 400 gold to win just the car and that did unlock the STOCK car and a BP race in Chapter 14.  However, The race rewards for that BP race are rigged so that you hardly ever get a chance at a BP for it.  Its taking forever to even upgrade the M5 to just stage 4.

I refuse to reward developers that extort real money from me to continue to play the game only to rig it so that later in the game I need to spend more real money.

I'm posting this in case anyone else is in the same situation I am in and as a warning.

  • @Shinare73 i think you may have fallen into the trap of upgrading the wrong car too early, the skyline bnr32 reaches 769pr which is enough to complete chapter 14 to get the viper bp's and if memory serves you dont need legendary parts to max out any of the classic sports cars

the other thing you could try is to scrap any stored materials/parts and purchase legendary parts from the chop shop to upgrade the porsche to a high enough pr to complete ch14 and unlock the viper

but you dont need to spend real cash

    *,

I took your advise and started dumping all my extra parts into the skyline bnr32.  I should have googled first.  The chapter 14 final race requires 779 PR.  the bnr32 only goes up to 769.

Well, if I wasn't completely screwed before, I am now.  I wasted all my spare parts on that car and it still wont get me to the race.

    RIP this game.

  • @Shinare73 sorry about that, its been a long time since i completed campaign mode, but as you had said in your post you needed 762pr i thought you was already at the last race of ch14 and that was the pr you needed to reach for the final race, the other option of purchasing parts for the porsche from the chop shop with scrap points is still valid though

    Hi,

Thanks for your efforts anyway, I really do appreciate the replies.  Just for clarity sake, for future people who get into my situation with the carrera 911, the parts you can purchase in the chop shop are the parts I already have on my car, which require the legendary materials to advance (7 star parts with 5 stars filled in).  You can not purchase legendary materials except for in the black market, which to do so must be unlocked by spending real money in the game's store to earn "VIP" points.   The other way to get the legendary materials is to unlock a viper, which you have to finish races you can not finish without the legendary materials.

There is no way I am starting all over again with another car after dumping months worth of materials, parts, in game cash, and time racing the same race over and over hundreds (yes hundreds) of times into a car only to realize it can not continue in the game.  Its obvious that the developers of this game quite clearly and methodically planned out every aspect of this game to force you to eventually need to pay money to continue playing past a certain point.  That kind of mentality gets no reward in my book.  They've already gotten their ad revenue out of me for watching countless ads to rush timers, advance parts in the black market, etc.

I see no need to continue to play the game and to continue to reward them for this.

I will uninstall the game as from this point forward it's just eating space on my phone.  A shame really, because up until this point, I was enjoying playing it, and paying for it by watching all the ads.  I will also remember this the next time I think I might want to start playing another EA game so I do not waste months of time only to get stuck behind another pay to win wall.

Will the F40 make the required pr to advance? Seems with a million replays of that event you could unlock that car eventually. That's kind of what I've been aiming at since I got stuck.
  • 1st of all buddy, chill out, don't need to panic, especially when you at carrier mode.
2nd don't continue if you feel like it's waste of time/need IRL cash to progress further,(because whether youike it or not,but you need to give your time to your game,*)
3rd what is your current rep level? Also you are at a point where you can get alot more vehicles than just the 911 Carrera,eg Mustang GT,the easiest car to upgrade and Max out at 801 PR ,do the replayable event for mustang GT and get Purple parts (that's all it needs) and Max it out, Mustang is cheaper and easily can help you to get both the Viper and the ferrari 458 Italia(right ahead), don't worry even if it says it's hard(pr is orange and says hard below),it's not gonna be a problem to get it done,or Nissan GTR(dunno what final PR is but mine is at 816) that's both smooth and faster in every way (no matter what car you go for, you have to play regularly to get prints and parts of the car)
4th it is most important that you increase your rep level(if your rep is low) car series events is the best and fastest way to get it,also don't do all car series/carrier events all at once, take a look at the Daily Task menu, just keep filling the daily task requirements (that's all you need to get up to 2000 gold's within a month),you have to be smart and confident about what you do.

*I am saying that because you will be surprised to know that I have completed my whole carrier of my game without spending even a dollar on it, and I know that for sure that i am not the only one to do it, and unless you give your time to your build, it would not go the way you want(trust me I learned that lesson a while ago)

Feel free to ask any more queries you have,
  • The Ferrari F40 will work too since it's final PR is 901,but you need to give all your time to get to 901 PR mate
