HP2010 shutdown?

Now that the Remastered version is (nearly) here, how long will the regular game's servers stay up?
Would it be possible, that the community could host their own multiplayer and scoreboards(a server with GPL license or something similar)?

Thanks in advance.

Good question! I'm not entirely sure, but judging by the fact that Carbon's servers are still up, it's not that unlikely that they may keep them up. Although, they might do so seeing as the remaster will probably supersede the original.

Hope you get an answer soon!

    This can go two ways.

    1. Judging by a previous remaster, which was Burnout Paradise Remastered, the servers for the original game got taken down shortly after the Remastered release. Also, purchases for the original got removed as well. So it's possible the original servers for NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 will follow suit too.

Purchases for the original game have already been taken down.

    2. NFS Carbon's servers are still online to this day, even after 14 years. So it's possible the original servers for NFS Hot Putsuit 2010 will stay online.

  • @hrjohn Since this is EA we are talking about.I can be 100% certain the original server will be shut down about half a year after HD release.Paradise HD led to shut down of Paradise original server about half a year later.HP2010 should make no difference.
