I cannot connect or see my PS3 friends under autologs screen "friends" section in NFS Rivals

I cannot connect or see my PS3 friends under autologs screen "friends" section in NFS Rivals! I have many ppl wanting to play w/ me but we cannot join games. I deleted them from my PSN friend list and...

Can you see them online on the PSN menu friends list when you are looking for them ? 

How many friends do you have currently in your friend list?

Make sure your PS3 is up to date.

Are you playing with a Sub Account or a Master Account? The Master Account holder can restrict Sub Accounts' participation in the PlayStation Network.

Yes I can see them online on my PSN friends menu. I only have 3 friends in the rivals game listed that I can join out of 8 ppl I've met in the game and "friended" them. But we can never play together. And yes it up to date, as a possible solution, I uninstalled NFS Rivals and reinstalled it and re downloaded the patches. Same thing....
