I am rather disappinted with the way EA treats its customers.
I bought the game brand new from Walmart yesterday for PS3 and am having the same problem as you. I can't find anywhere to try and get support from EA in person. Did you ever get an answer to your issue?
edit - actually not exact issue. My issue is the online pass code is saying that its already been redeemed, which is stupid because it is a brand new copy still in package. But still wondering if they ever responded to you.

Also bought brand new and sealed and getting an invalid code for my online pass...the time savers pack worked perfectly...

Nope I haven't recieved any solution for my problem yet ! I'm still looking for their email. If any body has their email please put it up here.
I have similar problems with other games such as AC III and Black Ops. I ordered all of them from Amazon.com. But at least AC III support team responded and solved my issue.

It seems like this issue is related to the Online Pass according your reports here and not the product code.
(albahri987 I think you are also experiencing this issue with the Online Pass.)We would like to ask players who are experiencing this issue to post a message below including:
- The exact error message, the platform, the retailer, the game edition and also confirm if this is related to the product code or the online pass.
* Additional information:
EA Online Pass are generally redeemed through either the Playstation Network Store or the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Online Pass for my game on Xbox 360
To successfully redeem your pass and access online play, please follow the steps below:- Enter the Online Pass Code (from the insert that came with the disc)
- You will see either one of these messages (Error verifying Online Pass OR Code entered has already been used). When you do, skip to step 3
- Reboot console without signing out of Xbox Live
- Launch your game and follow the on-screen prompts. You should be ushered into the Online Pass re-download process.
- Download the Online Pass and continue on to starting the game. Online features should be available to you now.

I bought mine at Wal_Mart and its the online pass that is conected to the other stuff and its for the PS3
