Joystick not working / Keyboard not working

Hello,

I tried to play NFS the Run.

First I tried with Joystick (LogiTech Force 3d pro)

I could configure all buttons besides steering and accelerate. Config is not reacting on Stick-Movements.

I the game I get displayed to press things like A, X, LT, LB etc. which I could guess and try around (stupid useability!)

But steering, accelerating, braking is not working at all.

So I tried with keyboard.

Same thing: I'm asked to press A, X, LT etc. but no matter what I press, nothing happens.

Please advise how I can get a joystick working and where I can find a mapping between whatever LT... means and a real keyboard.

Thanks / Regards

    @Zwenevie

Are you playing the game with Origin?

If not, you can try to install Origin, you will be able to download a Patch.

    General:

    • 30 FPS cap is disabled when v-sync is set to OFF in advanced display settings
    • Miscellaneous fixes for gamepad and peripheral support
    • Tweaked reset behavior for a number of tracks in The Run where resets seemed too close to the main race route

Complete Patch notes available here: Need for Speed The Run - PC Patch

    Additional information

Need for Speed The Run officially supports the following steering wheels:

    • PS3
Generally all steering wheels based on the PS3 controller will function in NFS The Run. Wheels will need to be configured / mapped in game.
    • Xbox 360
We officially support the Microsoft wheel.
    • PC
For PC we support all X input or Direct X compatible controllers, in other words, they’ll all work and will need to be configured in the game.
    • Wii
For Wii we support the Mario Kart wheel and compatible.

Please be aware that the Fanatec Porsche GT3 driving wheel is not supported in Need for Speed The Run.

    Hello,

I'm using Origin to start NFS.

Unfortunately I can't see the Patch-status or actively check for updated there.

Also the rest of the anser is not yet helpful.

I'm using a fully directx compatible input!

NFS is just not recoginzing all the axis of the joystick when configuring the input-controls.

As Alternative I'd like to use the keyboard. For this it would be very nice to have a translation-table of all those X-Box keys (A, X, LT, LB....) to keyboard-commands.

Some of them I've found just by trying out (Blue X -> Enter; Red B -> Spacebar), but not all.

    Regards

Why does the ingame menu and etc keeps acting like i selected a Xbox Controller? (dont even have one..)

I selected keyboard and remember before the patch the game had no problems with keyboard.

For example, the first cutscene in the game it tells me to press 🍺 and (X) like on a Controller, its not telling me to press "X", "Enter" or "Spacebar" on my keyboard. Was very hard to get out of the car when u dont know what key to press

Is there a workaround for this??
