L2 and R2 are far too sensitive

Not sure if it's just me, but using a DS4 controller on PC I've noticed that no matter how little input I give to either L2 (braking) or R2 (accelerating), it's like I'm slamming on the brakes or slamming on the gas.

Basically what I'm saying is, let's say I'm trying to just cruise at a particular speed/RPM, it's like I'm using a keyboard to brake and accelerate. Because even if I just hold down R2 with the tiniest amount of pressure - As soon as the game detects input from the controller the car will just floor it. Again same deal for braking with L2.

This kinda ruins the immersion a bit and sometimes I just want to be able to cruise at a good speed to marvel at my builds at a calming pace, ya feel me boss?

  • @TheBigBenisMan having the same issue with my ps4 controller. I haven't tried using ds4windows with it yet. Will attempt tomorrow to see if that helps. I imagine it's something with the origin launcher being configured for xbox controllers and not ps4 dualshocks.

@xDragonBlanco95x @FuryKn16ht DS4Windows kinda fixes it. It's difficult to explain, but it half works. It's like you need to be giving either inputs a particular amount of pressure for you to either gradually accelerate or gradually brake - Instead of instantly accelerate or instantly brake.

Sorry I know that's vague but I'm not sure how else to describe it.

Also I noticed this too - If you very, VERY lightly accelerate (and I'm sure it's the same deal for braking), you can eventually get to the point where you're holding down R2 all the way and you aren't accelerating. It's like there's some kind of deadzone in a sense with the triggers. (with DS4Windows).

@xDragonBlanco95x I had looked for a deadzone tweaker of some sort but I wasn't able to find anything for the triggers ☹️. The settings I use for DS4Windows are all default.

Man that sucks. I don't think the same thing was happening with Payback. I'm sure they will roll out a fix eventually, I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

yep, no one cares at EA apparently, I'm also having this issue and it's really ruining the experience for me. Either you slam the gas or the breaks, no in-between.
