Forum Discussion
There are several threads like this.
PS If you don't like customization, dont play a current NFS games. Go play the simulation games that it sounds like you love. I also just saw a comment in another thread claiming they derailed the threat to argue with you. Seemed like you were tired of it. Practice what you preach. You just did the same thing here because someone doesn't agree with you. Get a life man.

Everyone, please refrain from going off-topic. Let's continue discussing NFS, shall we?
Remember that everyone has different opinions and you may disagree with others' opinions. There are no right or wrong opinions.
Thank you.

Its because we want to personalize cars. If you want just a racing game, play Forza or Gran Turismo.@XGCSith This isn't a very good suggestion.
Forza (except the Horizon series) and Gran Turismo are mainly simulation racing while NFS is mainly arcade racing.
Two different driving physics between simulation and arcade racing.
Some people may argue that Gran Turismo is simcade racing though, but it would still have different car physics than pure arcade racing.

When you focus on just gameplay you tend to forget about the other half and thats the customization part.Gameplay and game modes are a lot more important when you can do something with your car after you finish applying upgrades onto your car.
If there is a lack of gameplay and game modes, then you wouldn't have much to do with your cars except showing off your cars to others.
And IMO, that's boring.
I want to be driving my fancy-looking cars, not sit idle with my fancy-looking cars.

Secondly, that it what NFS is NOW so yes, when it comes to current NFS games, customization is a good half of the game because thats what people want.I wonder when Need For Speed became Need For Customization...
I thought Need For Speed meant driving as fast as possible in the past...

You know ever since i start playing the need for speed games it was because of customization for me. That was a major part of its attraction and target audience. Not long after more games followed suit. It was in the time early 2000s ( give or take ) that car customization made a strong come back and tuners and such were all the rage. The first Fast and Furious cashed in on this as well. So in my opinion saying Need for speed payback isn't about customization isn't true really . Saying it isn't racing isnt really true either That is the beauty of this game, it gives those who want to "race" an out let as well as it allows us casual customizing addicts and collectors a place to create our dream rides and run free . I and am sure many others play this game for a bit ot of everything.
Games like Project cars 1 and 2 , Iracing, Assetto corsa , GTR , GTR 2 , Race On and many more are the pure simulation racing genre. There really isn't any purist customization in those games outside of mods as it is pick a livery and thats that. I have had many years in Sim Racing and that is a true racing game class over any Forza ,NFS or other related game . NFS Payback isn't a sim nor does it claim to i know, it is a arcade game that gives us events and such to drive our own creations in a virtual world. Thats why I like it , it is a little bit of everything not just one thing.
🙂
- XGCSith8 years agoSeasoned Ace@TheRealJony I said that because of the normal racing game comment. NFS isn't a normal racing game. The main reason why I play NFS is becaue of the personalization aspect of modifying the cars. In this day and age, customization is a huge part of NFS. Thats why I said customization is half of the game. Other would be the gameplay, story etc.
