Logitech Wingman Cordless Rumblepad

So there seems to be lots of support for the Rumblepad 2, but none for the original Rumblepad. The controls are the same other than having 6 buttons on the right instead of 4, but since the 360 controller only has 4, that doesn't matter. My problem is that I cannot get the steering to work using x360ce. Yes, I could bind the L-stick using the Logitech profiler, but then I can only go 100% right/left. That defeats the purpose of an analog stick.

Does anyone have a solution? So glad I pirated this game, because I'd be really pissed if I had paid for it and wasn't able to use it.

Edit: Solved it. You have to press the mode button on the controller. This swaps the l-stick and DPAD.
