Obviously this post is old but hopefully will help anyone else who gets into this situation. Same thing happened to me. Found a delerict and fast traveled to the garage. Next thing I know the car I was in was gone.
Make sure to check your warehouse and don’t forget the warehouse is FILTERED so be sure to actually switch over to the type of car you lost. When I first looked it said “no cars found” (because I wasn’t missing a race type which is the default) and I immediately went “well crap”. The when I actually filtered over, there it was! Hopefully this helps anyone else.
