Need for Speed - The Run (PC) - keeps crashing before the game even starts

I should have learned my lesson after I bought N4S Rivals (which I still can't play due to massive fps issues).  However, I bought "The Run" a couple of days ago, installed it this morning, and have ...

    Your DxDiag looks fine to me.

    I have asked @EA_Alain for assistance with this issue and we have made some research.

    We hope this will help:

    First thing, not sure you have tried this yet but just in case try launching the game in compatibility mode:
    Instructions below

    Spoiler
    Windows 7 Users

        Right-click your game's shortcut and select Properties
        Select the Compatibility tab and then "Help me choose the settings"
        In the Windows Help and Support window that appears, select "Click to open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter"
        In the Program Compatibility window that appears, select the Next button
        If the game appears in the program list, select it and select Next.  If the game does not appear in the program list, select "Not Listed" at the top and browse to the game executable (.exe)
        Select "Try recommended settings"
        Select "Start the program" to test your new compatibility settings
        If your game functions properly, select "Yes, save thee settings for this program"
    • Then turn off V-Sync (in-game display menu and advance)
    • Set the graphic settings to default or medium
    • Disable UAC
