Need for Speed 2015 does not launch (PC)

Please help. When I launch the game from Origin, Origin minimizes, running in the background and reappears (kicks me back into library where I start the game from). Nothing happens. I run the .exe, nothing happens. It used to run fine a few years ago, no changes to the hardware (except added a new SSD, but booting the game off of an HDD (previously and now).

I've tried:

-all the compatibility settings

-tried running as admin

-tried running at 640x480 resolution

-tried disabling fullscreen optimizations

-tried changing DPI settings

-tried running NFS16_trial.exe (does nothing)

-tried launching ActivationUI.exe, then launching the game (does nothing)

-uninstalled/reinstalled multiple versions of GPU drivers (running latest signed ver. right now)

-tried updating the game (does nothing)

-tried repairing the game (does nothing)

-tried clean install (does nothing)

-tried clean install of Origin (does nothing)

-tried novideo and window mode commandline arguments(does nothing)

Specs: MSI R9 390 (no OC) Intel I7 4790-k (no-OC) 16gb of DDR3 RAM, XMP enabled OS: Win 10 Home (latest build)

Game used to run fine a few years ago, absolutely no problems. Origin is up to date. I have steady internet connection.
