Need for Speed Carbon keeps crashing at same spots on map/races

i tried to play Need for Speed Carbon on Windows 7 and it actually worked fine when i set compatibility mode to windows 98. but now it keeps crashing at the exact same spots in several races (Angies ...

Right click the game in Origin and then choose Repair.

If that option is not present, you nay need to reinstall the game.

i didn't buy the game in Origin, i bought the CD in a store many years ago.
i already deleted and reinstalled the game several times.
it's just weird that the game actually works, just at some very specific spots on the map it crashes.
