  • Hi @didiluci

The only suggestion I can make is to go to the games' directory, right click on the actual game exe, should be NFSHP2.exe and in the properties set the OS compatibility to Windows XP and keep Administrator on.

This should allow the game to launch. Unfortunately I am unaware of any Windows 10 fixes and patches for NFS Hot Pursuit 2 should this not work. If however this does work, as soon as you enter the game, exit again and go to the following location in your Documents: EA Games/Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and edit the file RenderCaps.ini. In the file change the value of the property LimitResolution from =1 to =0.

This should allow you to now set the resolution to match your monitor.

Also, another suggestion I always make when answering similar questions is to recommend just using a separate partition or HDD install of Ubuntu with Wine installed. Wine is a piece of software that allows you to execute Windows applications and games on a Linux OS, the primary difference here being that Wine just like Linux OS's themselves never drop support for older legacy software and hardware, so even though Wine isn't great at emulating the latest DX11 games it makes running older games such as these an absolute dream with almost no per-game configuration required as with Windows 10.

    Hope this information helps

    Take Care 🙂
