So I think I discovered the problem. It will always crash no matter what if my GTX 1080 is over 2000mhz on the core. If it floats under 2000mhz then its fine. But I'll add a weird caveat to this. On my secondary system that has a GTX 1060 6gb never crashes and that sits at 2063mhz on the core. Anyway I hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip but this did not help. Still locks up and I have no overclocks on my system.
