NFS Rivals has been updated today and black screen issue is fixed for me. 😕mileyhappy:
I bought the game yesterday. Getting this issue.
Windows 8.1 x64. All latest updates.
ATI 7750. Tried first with catalyst 13.9. Then latest 13.11 beta (same problem)
Panasonic 65" Plasma using HDMI
It's not a good solution to not play in fullscreen on a plasma. Might get the top Need for Speed windows bar burned in....
In case anyone doesn't know: Unplugging all HDMI cables and only using VGA or DVI cables fixes the problem. Not a satisfactory fix by any means, but at least it lets those who paid for the game, actually play it.

Ya, except i have both types of cords, and two monitors. No combination of cords, both, or single monitors work, the game still only start with a black screen, no sound, no animation, only the origin logo for the ingame stuff. Once again, this is the only game i have an issue with. I like NFS, but this is the first one i got on origin, and it has issues.
