Need For Speed Rivals Feedback And Hopes

Need for speed rivals have probably been the best need for speed game ever made. It’s atmosphere, the rain particles, its overall mood creates the best feeling ever when playing this game. It’s AI cops are relentless making it engaging and fun to play which requires skill. Its map is also perfect with the landscape is all perfect while the ui from the menu is also perfect. The overall looks of this game is amazing and nothing greatly unrealistic. The freedom you get in this game is incredible compared to the other NFS games as well. You get choices between Cop and Racer, clean open world compared to NFS hot pursuit remastered and has a designated Cop mode with specialized tech like EMP’s compared to all other need for speed games. 

So my overall feedback is to update the game a little, although servers have been shut down, there has been a great, loyal fan based specifically for this game, with many such as myself asking for a remastered version (such as NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered) with better gameplay while keeping its great atmosphere intact. Its overall gameplay and atmosphere should be studied and placed into newer NFS games especially its unique features and designs ranging from the ui and atmosphere of its dark tone to its overall aesthetic gameplay from dynamic weather and great graphics for a very old game, better than most NFS games as newer games don’t have dynamic weather like NFS most wanted. 

Each game has its drawbacks in my opinion, from my eyes, every new NFS game should look up towards rivals and take inspiration from it. It has gotten play station hits, great awards like the 15 best of awards and more. It’s a great game see being slowly destroyed despite its great success and achievements. Below I will list some bad things about the newer NFS games and compare them to Rivals and finish with a way to help this fan base. 

NFS hot pursuit:

• Career is event based rather than open world progression.
• Free driving is available but more focused on selecting events.
• Older graphics and less advanced weather.
• Less exploration as it has more polished pursuit mechanics.

NFS heat:

• Cannot play as police
• No pursuit gadgets like EMPs
• More focused on street racing and car customization.
• Day and night system rather than Rivals dynamic weather/atmosphere.

NFS Unbound:

• No playable police
• Anime style visual effects rather than Rivals clean effects
• Brighter urban setting
• Overly focused on customization and style

NFS most wanted:

• No police as usual 
• No weather system like rivals
• Older graphics
• No pursuit technology 

NFS payback:

• Police limited to story missions rather than constantly roaming.
• Desert environment rather than forest and coastline.
• More story focused

NFS:

• No playable police.
• Police less threatening
• Focus on tuning cars rather then exotic cars.
• Entirely at night.

Now I know there are more NFS games out there to talk about but writing this much was enough. Now for the big reason why I’m writing this:

I have been playing the game since it came out and it was a big part of my life during the ages 5-10. I used to play this game constantly and consistently on my ps4 during this time but after getting newer games like Minecraft during that time I stopped playing for a bit. But of course I started playing again. But I was shocked to see such a good game being cut off from online services like multiplayer. Although I understand it has a large cost to people playing ratio, that isn’t my point. My point is that my Disc is very damaged so I was looking into other NFS games to play similar to rivals but they each have their differences. Each doesn’t give the same vibe as rivals no matter how similar there is a difference but I understand Ea can’t create the exact same game again and again but it has been years. My idea was to ask for either newer NFS games to be way more similar to rivals (like very very similar) or to release a remastered version. There is still a Rivals community out there with a loyal fan base as stated before but such a perfect game shouldn’t be left unnoticed. The game in my eyes is the holy grail of NFS. Each game should look up to it and take inspiration from its unique design and gameplay. 

Overall, I suggest a remastered version of NFS rivals coming back into production and sold world wide. Its awards demonstrate its greatness and perfectionism in its craft. By updating newer console features such as on the ps5 by adding ray-tracing, 4k graphics, 120hz gameplay or anything else would make the game vastly better. By updating car controls to a more realistic level or legacy versions also would be even better with even more freedom to the game with AI aggression control which can be changed by the user in the settings or by making it even more focused on its great atmosphere. Another suggestion is to create newer NFS games to a more similar approach and format to Rivals. Its graphics are better than most modern games and just perfect overall. It has the best atmosphere I have ever seen and the best map of course. I will soon be buying a new disc for rivals so I can play again on either my ps5 or ps4 I will have to choose but I really hope such a great game doesn’t go unnoticed and is taken into account for future production of newer NFS projects, and of course I hope for a remastered version 😉.
