@MephilestheDank wrote:This thread has been going on for quite a while hasn't it? I just bought the game for $5 myself and it worked for a little bit, crashed twice though. I will try moving it to the internal storage to see if that helps. It really is a great game, so its stupid that this is even going on. EA is so notorious for this stuff. If they actually cared about their image they would do something.
I seriously doubt that switching the game to the internal storage will fix this issue, especially with the fact that this issue is across ALL platforms. Also, the fact that the game does not crash/freeze when offline suggest it is a EA server issue and/or a coding issue. Keep us posted on your results.
Still playing with no crashes unless I try to put the game back on my external. No clue why moving to an external and deleting the saved game works, it just does. I have to repeat the move and delete save every time after I move it back to external to stop the crashing.

Well spoke too soon. Played it earlier on my other console and it was fine but went to boot it on my one S and it gave me an error message saying the other console was taking to long to sync the saved game and gave me an option to try again or use last known save. Choose last known save and now its back to crashing.... Its definitely a saved game - server sync error it seems.
- 7 years ago
Well that sucks. At this rate I don't think there will ever be a solution.
- 7 years agoThere is always a solution, it just might not be the one we were hoping for.
- Anonymous7 years ago
Fixed it again! Had to go back to the old console and boot the game, let it sync and it booted fine. Went to my S console and tried to boot it and it crashed, deleted the saved game data and it booted up fine! Either the save data is corrupting or its some type of mismatch error on the sync side

Mephiles and the other guy I don't think the solution the other guy is saying works, my solution does work for the time being is when get in the game ASAP of tries immediately go to the 3rd tap and change the All drive settings to single player or private match and you won't have to worry about crashing. If you think that is "So Stupid and dumb" Let give you new flash it does work and xboxbabe70 knows it works as well cause I did test this 2 or 3 days ago and I have recorded our 1v1 chase rounds off the xbox 1 capture system. Xboxbabe70 I didn't upload the other videos yet didn't get around of uploading to the one drive yet it will be up soon. Here the link to those vids.

I never said that particular solution is dumb. I said EA is dumb for not fixing the issue in the first place. While I don't mind singleplayer and don't doubt it works just fine, I kind of like the multiplayer aspect of the game.

I'm not sure why you are taking it as if I insulted either of you. I insulted EA lol.

I was just confused why he thought I was insulting you guys.

No idea, i wasn't insulted. - 7 years ago
You know what, he sent me a message earlier, just saw it. He must've been referring to that. Maybe he thought I was ignoring it.

I'd like to add that yes it did work that time, but that doesn't mean it works all the time, we only tried it once. - 7 years ago
Honestly I think I'm gonna get a refund for the game if I can. I know its only $5 but no use in keeping a game I can't even play. I'll be following this forum tho to see if you guys ever figure something out though. Update: Guess I have to fill out some form like you said earlier XboxBabe. It's only $5, but $5 is $5.

I appreciate the suggestion for offline or private match but imo the game is useless with out the online aspect as I prefer cracking down on "real" racers =-) I'm able to crash the game on both console versions I have and deleting the saved game is the only way I can get it to load again (but I cant ever get it to load on external on either console). Occasionally I have to delete the saved game on both consoles to get the other to load. While I enjoy the game its too much of hassle to keep it working....

- Anonymous7 years agoAfter deleting the saved game and getting it too load I've never had an "in game" crash, even after about 3 hours of playtime. Its after shutting down and reloading the console it starts up again. THANKS EA!

My refund was denied, presumably because it was on sale, RIP
- Anonymous7 years ago
my refund was denied a second time even though I explicitly typed "GAME DOES NOT WORK ON EITHER OF MY 2 CONSOLES, CRASHES ON LOAD. SEE EA FORUMS. I CANNOT PLAY THIS GAME I PURCHASED". Guess they don't give a damn.

Just to note I've had an active xbox live gold account for at least 10 years (or since the xbox 360 dropped) and only ever had ONE thing refunded in that time period!!!!!
- 7 years ago
Welp later today I will try to upload more chase videos even one that was 2v1 from last nigh after figuring out the issue of the game crashing on someone else end and was really fun especially from perspective lol This is on the one also not 360

*Sigh* I guess I'll go play NFS reboot since I've barely started it. Not a fan of the live action * but at least the racing is fun.

Nope not the reason, I have gotten refunds for digital games on sale with no issues. But now it looks like they have a new policy under there terms of sale, which make no sense since it says they will give refunds then below says the won't, makes no sense! Here is the link to it and I am pasting the refund part of their policy,

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/terms-of-sale
16. Return Policy. We will accept returns and exchanges for eligible products for 30 days from the date of purchase or download, as applicable. Simply return the eligible product in like new condition and in its original packaging, along with all parts, components, instruction manuals and documentation that were initially included. This Return Policy does not affect any statutory rights that may apply to your purchase.
Packaged software and games must be returned with their seal intact and must include all media and product keys. As a limited exception, software and game packages that have been opened may be returned during the return period if you are unsatisfied with the license agreement or warranty, but only if you do not make or retain any copies.
Even if you return your products, packaged software or games, these Terms of Sale will still apply to the time between your purchase or download and return.
Some items are not eligible for return; unless otherwise provided by law or by a particular product offer, all purchases of these types of products are final and non-refundable:
- digital apps, games, in-app content and subscriptions, music, movies, TV shows, and associated content;
- gift cards and service/subscription cards (e.g., Skype, Xbox Live, Groove Music Pass);
- products that have been personalized or customized;
- special order products, if not part of a Store promotional offering;
- random access memory ("RAM") products;
- services that have been performed or consumed; and
- clearance items or those marked with a designation such as "Final Sale" or "Non-Returnable".
When you make a qualifying return, we will credit the full amount, less the original shipping and handling charges (if any) except we won’t deduct those charges for returns because you are unsatisfied with the license agreement or warranty, and you will typically receive your refund in approximately 3-5 business days. Any refunds will be applied to the same account, and using the same method of payment, used to place the order (unless you choose a Store credit in the amount of the refund).

You can always try to file a complaint with BBB and/consumer affairs and also post a complaint on microsoft facebook? etc..... Can't hurt
