Nope not the reason, I have gotten refunds for digital games on sale with no issues. But now it looks like they have a new policy under there terms of sale, which make no sense since it says they will give refunds then below says the won't, makes no sense! Here is the link to it and I am pasting the refund part of their policy,

16. Return Policy. We will accept returns and exchanges for eligible products for 30 days from the date of purchase or download, as applicable. Simply return the eligible product in like new condition and in its original packaging, along with all parts, components, instruction manuals and documentation that were initially included. This Return Policy does not affect any statutory rights that may apply to your purchase.
Packaged software and games must be returned with their seal intact and must include all media and product keys. As a limited exception, software and game packages that have been opened may be returned during the return period if you are unsatisfied with the license agreement or warranty, but only if you do not make or retain any copies.
Even if you return your products, packaged software or games, these Terms of Sale will still apply to the time between your purchase or download and return.
Some items are not eligible for return; unless otherwise provided by law or by a particular product offer, all purchases of these types of products are final and non-refundable:
- digital apps, games, in-app content and subscriptions, music, movies, TV shows, and associated content;
- gift cards and service/subscription cards (e.g., Skype, Xbox Live, Groove Music Pass);
- products that have been personalized or customized;
- special order products, if not part of a Store promotional offering;
- random access memory ("RAM") products;
- services that have been performed or consumed; and
- clearance items or those marked with a designation such as "Final Sale" or "Non-Returnable".
When you make a qualifying return, we will credit the full amount, less the original shipping and handling charges (if any) except we won’t deduct those charges for returns because you are unsatisfied with the license agreement or warranty, and you will typically receive your refund in approximately 3-5 business days. Any refunds will be applied to the same account, and using the same method of payment, used to place the order (unless you choose a Store credit in the amount of the refund).

That is really strange, it seems like the terms are contradicting each other. I'm not going to fight it at this point. If it were $20 I would, but at this point I don't care anymore.

Something interesting to note is that the 360 and PC servers are both down, but all the rest are up.
- Anonymous7 years agoI'm with you, $5 isn't worth the hassle but I will definitely NEVER buy any digital content again that is older than a few months. I'll stick with disc that I can return for anything past that. I'll do my best to pass on any EA games as well since I see what kind of support they offer here!

I also filed a bug report scolding them very strongly but I doubt they will do anything.

Well if you guys want fun on rivals me and xboxbabe could invite you to private sessions to have fun. If we did 2v1 last night after dealing with technical difficulties we could do it later cause I did the method what I use to do in gta v was invite one player at a time to see if they can get in or not
- 7 years ago
Hmm, that would be great. Maybe after I finish finals lol. My problem now is the game is getting stuck at the loading screen connecting to EA's servers, so I cannot even accept invites. I might delete my save file.

Nobody tried deleting the saved game after making sure its on the internal? Your only deleting it off the hard drive and when it starts loading you will visibly see it re sync with the cloud which is what's fixing it for me most the time. You will lose nothing but likely gain the ability to actually play the game. Where did you file a bug report I'd like to do the same!

Just select the option from the drop down menu. I encourage everyone to do this. Enough reports and maybe possibly just very slightly possible maybe not maybe they will possibly or possibly not maybe kinda do something about it.

The fact that the game works 100% of the time when offline suggest that the issue is with the EA server and/or the coding of the game. So if deleting the saved games and reinstalling them works it's just a fluke, and that's it! Personally I've had better luck starting the game offline and then reconnecting once i was in the game.

I've already done this several times, and I'm sure a lot of other people have tried also, but the fact is EA really doesn't care so I don't think more people filing reports will make a difference. Personally I think our next step should be legal action.

FYI I'll be on in about an hour (10:30p.m EST) to play if anybody would like to join!

How would we go about doing that exactly? I don't exactly have money for legal action lol.

Same here. Just bought the full collection. And this game crashes on start up every time. Need for Speed 2015 and Payback works fine, but rivals is beyond broken !!! I'm really pissed right now !!! I paid for non-functional game. EA needs to fix this asap !!!

Sorry for your loss, but if you look at the very first post you'll see that this problem has been going on since the game first game out in 2013, if they haven't fixed it after 5 years it's a pretty sure sign they won't ever fix it. That being said, there are things you can try to make it work, like disconnect from your internet and play offline, or disconnect from internet and once the game starts reconnect to the internet, or some claim that moving the game from your external HD to the consoles internal HD works sometime, take your pick, gl!
- 7 years agoMine is installed Internally, i don't have a external HDD. Seems offline mode boots up the game. But i also want to play Online. And whenever i click public, it crashes right away. I mean why sell a game if it doesn't work online???
