I'm with you, $5 isn't worth the hassle but I will definitely NEVER buy any digital content again that is older than a few months. I'll stick with disc that I can return for anything past that. I'll do my best to pass on any EA games as well since I see what kind of support they offer here!

I wouldn't go as far as that, I buy digital games regularly with no issues myself. I also filed a bug report scolding them very strongly but I doubt they will do anything.
