@xboxbabe70 IS correct bout the details there. But here the thing bout the servers the 360 version/PS3 works fine for online it just for the upgraded versions that having the server problems. Now if you do want to play online with people heres what I reconnd you do first:
1.Turn off your console wifi connection, for xbox one you go to settngs then head to network n hit network setting n hit go offline
2. Load up the game do tutorial etc, and go to the garage menu doesnt matter which side you are on.
3. From garage menu you will be brought to by default tab saying "garage" which is the second tab from going from left to right. Go one tab to the right "All drive" and hit on All drive setting.
4. once there make sure when you have the console offline from the wifi make sure when you go in all drive settings that your Matchmaking setting is at single player.
5. After it set to single player you can hit it to start single player less it put you on it automatically, you can go back online to your wifi by repeating step 1.
6. After that done set your matchmaking setting to private game and it will work so you can play by yourself and could invite friends in it.
Hope these steps help cause me n @xboxbabe70 play together a few times on the xbox one rivals. Also note this is not like a 100% fix but a temp fix with you probably crash a few times but had lots of fun doing back n forth of cop and robbers style lol
Hi @EA
Why don't you treat this problem affecting so many customers?
We are all spending monney to make your company doing profits.
The best and the minimum you can do is to fix the trouble and let us enjoy to play.
Don't you consider and respect customers ?

@ciacgg I agree but don't waste your time venting on here, this forum is not monitored by EA so no one from EA is going to read your post and do something about it. I hate to say it but our only option is to stop buying EA games, its a shame really since they make really good games and don't take the time to fix issues with them.

Hi @xboxbabe70,
Thanks for the input. As you say, it appears not useful trying to talk to EA support/customer service if they do not look at those posts.

Hi
@dj41878, i tried already and it did not work for me. Also i am not looking for any workaround that will works sometime only. I clearly want to be able to play online for the game i spent monney.
@xboxbabe70, thanks.

@ciacgg @dj41878 I agree, and I believe everyone would rather have a permanent solution, including myself. Perhaps since there are so many of us we could possible start a petition of some sort? I realize that the game is old, which honestly shouldn't matter if it's a good game, which Rival is in my opinion. Maybe if enough of us petition it, they could look into remastering it??? Thoughts???
- 6 years ago@xboxbabe70 Absolutely a excellent idea this game may be old but it was awesome when it came out and to think ea let it get this bad frustrates me

Ya sorry to say that's not really enough times to know if your game truly works 100%, I'm going to say probably not. Now, I've had times where I could play 5 - 10 games without the game crashing or freezing, and I was told by a EA support agent that the problem was because they didn't have enough servers to support the amount of players so their servers constantly crash people out if too many people tried to connect @ the same time.

Yeah with the amount of money that EA have, you'd think think they'd just get more servers !! That's such a lame excuse of theirs. Then again, maybe it's just greed on their part, in not wanting to get more servers.....
Afterall, it's people that made EA who they are. It's people that gave them the billions so they could be a huge mega corporation and it's the least that EA could do to say thank you, by making sure they have enough servers so that their games run properly or whatever else is needed to ensure smoothly running games....
