@jhon34jhon First, this thread is for the game Need for speed rivals ONLY, and if you had read the posts on this thread you would know that the problem is not just happening on the XBOX, but that it's happening across ALL gaming platforms, and so far the only solution has been to start and play the game offline.
- If you try that. You won’t have problems
- If you got problem for pc I found a fix for that too
I agree 100 percent don’t but there games
It's a problem with the digital and physical copy of the game. I'm having it recently and it's annoying and I'm getting my money back for it I love this game but the keeps freezing at the menu screen

Good luck!- After contacting EA I have a fix. Go to advanced network settings and clear your alternate Mac address (something like that). Cut the xbox off unplug for a minute turn xbox back on wait for 10-15 minutes to let the settings update and start the game. Should be good to go.
Thank you for your feedback. For me, game freezes at launch and the I get back to login screen. I don’t get an opportunity to select playing offline to begin with! How can I choose only to play offline without connecting to EA servers. Also, if things are not working, how I can I return my digital copy and get my money back?
Turn off the internet on your xbox.go into settings and turn it off. Start game and it will work
SOLVED : It worked !!! After one year of agony and frustration. I tired restarting console, deleting and reinstalling again on internal and external hard drives. Nothing worked.
So this is what I did that worked. I don’t which of these steps worked but you might as well follow the same pattern.
1- I went to games icons/pins in xbox. Clicked menu for NFS RIVALS , “Manage games and add-on” for this specific game . On the left column it says Saved Data. I deleted that saved data. Don’t worry Its going to download again from cloud. I deleted mine from xbox and server both, when it asked.
2- But what I really think made it work was this one. In one of the solution from EA it says “ Clear persistent storage “ something to do with Blu ray setting. I KNOW. What the hell Blu-Ray setting has to do with game .. Right. But as soon as I did cleared that, the next time I started the game, it was WORKING !!!.
1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings.
3. Select Disc & Blu-ray.SOLVED.
