Need For Speed The Run Limited Edition Cars dont unlock

Recently bought a used copy of NFS The Run: Limited Edition, code was used by previous owner, no problem, instead I was given a free pass from the xbox store, limited edition cars still don't unlock. Anyone else had this issue before or is it just me? Or was the free pass non-existent?
