I was able to fix the problem by simply reinstalling the game.
Weird, but happy gaming!

I have this problem a lot also stops me from playing other games. I think it’s to do with saving to the cloud, I have noticed when I uninstall it from my local save data not the cloud I can get the game running fine until it happens again. Not an ideal fix but a lot quicker than uninstalling.
steps I take after a crash happening and blacking me from playing is to:
1. Go to manage game and add ons
2. Clear local save data(keep the cloud save that will recover when you next log in)
3. Turn off Xbox and unplug
4. reboot and reload game (let the save download from cloud again)
I hope this helps anyone else experiencing this issue and stops the lengthy uninstall game and reinstall.
October 2023, just purchased this game hoping for some fun, wtf! Still crashing.
April 17th, 2024 and it's still doing it makes the game virtually unplayable.
It’s almost november 2022 and it’s still crashing HAHAH, they ain’t fixing it i guess
