Every time I get on the game at startup I get this error and my money is reset to 10k no matter much I had, what could cause this? It’s extremely frustrating to grind for money just to lose it all when I get off the game. Playing on Xbox
Having the same issue, game took nearly $45,000 from me and set me to $8,200 after crashing whilst in the garage.
Pretty jank if you ask me...

Après avoir eu un reset de ma progression générale et la perte de tous les véhicules et pièces, j'ai ce bug maintenant qui réinitialise mon argent à 1173$ à chaque lancement du jeu.

Not true. It still isn't fixed. I've tried EVERY method.
I even tried starting a new save and letting it just get to the first car and then exited out to try again.
I'm still getting the same error message even on a NEW SAVE.
I've run out of options and I'm at my wit's end. This isn't funny anymore.
I just had that happen to me last night and lost over 250k
So update: the error had seemed to fix itself for me for a while, then the other night it happened again. Only this time I lost over 100 cars, my character was reset, and I lost almost 10 million dollars. Yep, that’s enough need for speed for me, I wish you all the best of luck.
