Can we please talk about how ridiculous the cops become overpowered after heat level 2? EA has made this awesome atmospheric night time mode where the cops are truly out to get you, but they're so ov...
I don't think the aim of the game is to bug hop you're way through
it should not be the way it is right now where you have to exploit bugs and rams to even have a chance to avoid em seriously. they are literly Alien corps with Alien mobile cars with stupid warp drives. i have had multiply issues with them being out of the red circle on the minimap around me and within 1 sek they were right next to me. thats warpdrive. i was going 200kmt+ that aint balanced. you can literly not get away from em at heat lvl 3 and above it is that bad untill you exploit bugs and ramps. you cant outrun them in a car that is maxed for speed nor does it help going offroad they are driveing like it was on a regular road. so no point useing an offroad setup car either. this is exatly as bad as NFS Paycrap. they need some work. as of right now i try to avoid heat lvl 3 and above at all times cause i do not find it fun useing exploit or ramps to avoid em. just my 2 cents..
Corvettes should keep up with your 200km thats the point in them. They even say it over the radio "can't keep up send somefaster units" then the corvettes get called in, the are the super pursuit unit for super cars/end game levels or speed, not just a pretty cat to look at. Problem is everything has rubber banding for the diamond formation. When they are not trying to do it you leave everything else in the dust but the corvettes. Thats how it sould be being the super car unit. Problem is by design, setting up that diamond formation makes any cop break the sound barrier when they decide to set it up. Untill that AI command,out running dodges and crown vics is achievable. That formation needs looking at because I honestly believe It's what causes this because when running about the city escaping is so much easier because they don't have chance to attempt the box thus, not having the crazy jet fuel speed boost
Soon as the dodges start boxing you take massive damage as they are the brute units. Problem is again. That formation. It ignores the speed limits of the cars.
They start spamming it in heat levels 3+ they just wanna get into one of the 4 boxing positions (your front your right or your left even if they are alone)
They even use it in heat 1 and 2 but the escape circle is small so they don't have the time to rubberband for the formation set up before you enter cool down
We need to point ghost and EA the right direction.
And after just testing and messing with the cops for 20 hours this my findings
The the box formation ignores the cops speed limits. And because they always try use it 99% of the chase we get this mess
Trust me this is the issue
If they fix that box tactic the cops instantly are fixed.
Its a classic example of the AI programming taking "go to and do this" taking priority over other lines of code. There obviously is not something to check the cars speed vs "go there and box player" the AI just wants to get up to you because it's told to do that 🤣 It's basically ignoring it's rules. (it's speed limit) to complete the box command.
In games design in college I made a BUNCH of common mistakes like this. And it leads to this
All it takes is a slight grammar error in your code and your AI can either break like alien colonial marines. Or just do whats obviously happening here
But honestly me personally. I've been out running heat 5 no problem going 200mph+ on hard. I don't think most people have their cars up to spec yet. Heat 3 to 5 is where chases actually start.
This is why I think nfs payback is better also ghost games was better at making the nfs games then ea
