See, there's a constructive idea. The drawback is that your Rep gain multiplier increases at each Heat level, which would limit lower level players to a slower grind towards the max. That being said, considering I went from level ~26 to 50 within a few hours, this could really increase the length of the grind (in a good way).

But then we'd just see more people complaining about cops because it would take them that much longer to level up for engine upgrades. 

Regarding the "high speed tanks", the only one I could imagine being nerfed is the Rhino. I've tried racing one as it spawned to chase another player and the truck was easily pulling 250m/h. The rest of the cops really are not a problem, the issue is simply that your engine components lack to make the time gap you need. They can only keep up with you under 180m/h. 

EDIT: considering the Rhino spawns heading towards you, the speed is only an issue if you can't dodge a truck which is marked on the map (well in advance), that flies at a speed so high that it cannot turn. It couldn't be easier to dodge them.

It's just so sad and triggering to see the vast volume of people whining. The game is incredibly well made. People are showing up to Heat 3 on a bicycle and crying that they're not allowed to get away with their stupid decisions :D

This would be sound advice if High Heat races unlocked after Rep Level 40. But they don't. Rep level 15 or so and you gain access to these races, but it is unbelievably difficult to escape or destroy the cops at that Rep level. You simply don't have access to enough parts or cars to outlast or outmaneuver them.

My biggest issue with chases is not that the cops are overpowered, but that they gain reinforcements so quickly before you can wreck the first 3 chasing you at heat 2 or 3, that 3 more are on you again, but this time they're all Mustang GTs and Corvette Grand Sports instead of Crown Vics, yet you're still driving around in Lancer Evo or a damn 180SX. It's completely imbalanced at low level. Based on some of these replies, it's even worse at high level, but in the opposite way; WE become too powerful.

Heat 0: Their stats are 50% of our current car's stats

Heat 1: Their stats are 75% of our current car's stats

Heat 2: Their stats are 100% of our current car's stats

Heat 3: Their stats are 125% of our current car's stats

I've reached rep 35 yesterday and got myself a Lamborghini murcielago with full rep 35 specs, topping 360 rating. My main concern is the speed, as many have pointed out. I don't think the cops' cars are excessively resistant. If you have the extra damage kit you can basically one shot them in a semi perpendicular hit. But for a heat 2/3 car to match the acceleration of a 360 spec lambo pumping a 9lbs nitrous is just plain madness. It feels like we are forced to abuse AI weaknesses and map specific areas like jumping into water to have our car reset while the cops just drown so we can escape the chase. The radar disruptor passive which is an elite auxiliary also feels weak after heat 3 your detection area is just gigantic. Anyways, I enjoy the game a lot, but the chases feel a little off, sometimes too easy, sometimes impossible
